ÖZET
Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı; infertilite nedeniyle in vitro fertilizasyon (IVF) tedavisi gören Polikistik Over Sendrom’lu (PKOS) hastalarda, dondurulmuş
embriyo transferi (DET) sürecinde beslenme eğitimi vermenin gebelik sonuçlarına etkisini değerlendirmektir. Gereç ve Yöntemler:
Retrospektif olarak planlanan bu çalışma Özel Hüma Kadın Hastalıkları ve Doğum Hastanesi, Tüp Bebek Ünitesi’nde yapılmıştır. Çalışmaya Ocak
2018-Aralık 2021 yılları arasında infertilite nedeniyle başvuran PKOS’lu ve IVF tedavisi gören 151 hasta dahil edilmiştir. PKOS’lu hastalar beslenme

ABSTRACT
Objective: The aim of this study was to assess effects of nutrition education on pregnancy outcomes during frozen embryo transfer (FET) in patients
with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) therapy for infertility. Material and Methods: This retrospective
study was conducted at IVF unit of Hüma Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital. The study included 151 patients with PCOS who presented
with infertility and underwent IVF therapy between January, 2018 and December, 2021. The PCOS patients were classified into two groups according
to referral to nutrition specialist. In group 1, 75 patients accepted to visit a nutritional specialist and received 30-days education and
counseling program about nutrition during embryo transfer. No education or counseling was provided to 76 patients in the second group. Both
groups underwent FET during IVF therapy and pregnancy outcomes were compared between groups. Results: Mean age was 27.0±6.34 years in
patients underwent FET. No significant differences were found in demographic characteristics such as age, height, weight, body mass index
(BMI) between groups (p>0.05). When IVF outcomes were assessed, implantation , clinical pregnancy and live birth rates were 56.0% (42/75),
46.7 (35/75) and 30.7% (23/75) in group 1 received nutrition education, respectively, which were significantly higher than those in group 2
(p<0.05). Conclusion: We think that nutrition education during FET has favorable effect on implantation and pregnancy in infertile patients with
PCOS. It is known that elevated blood glucose level has negative effects on many system by triggering inflammatory process. We think that the
negative process in endometrium is diminished by nutrition education, positively influencing on IVF outcomes
