ABSTRACT
Detection of bacteria with molecular techniques has enabled the study of low biomass microbiomes in tissues and organs previously considered
sterile. Female reproductive microbiota can affect fertility, and it may play a key role in the success of assisted reproductive technologies, such
as embryo implantation and pregnancy care. Here we review the current literature about the reproductive system microbiome in inferile females
and the importance of the healty microbiome for improving reproductive outcomes in infertile patients.
